This magnificent Toledo steel sword is a reproduction of what is commonly referred to as a medieval broadsword. If you're into technicality, it's what sword historians refer to as an Oakeshott Type XIV sword. It was crafted in Toledo, Spain--the Mecca of swordsmithing. The blade is forged from high-carbon steel for authenticity, and what a blade it is! At the forte (the thickest part of the blade) it's four fingers thick (more than three inches). These types of swords were used for both thrusting and hacking, and were great at battering heavily armored opponents. They were also good at battering lightly armored opponents. Or unarmored opponents. Or small trees. Or barrels. Yeah, they were just good swords for hacking and destroying things.
Our Toledan Medieval Broadsword is nearly 35 inches in overall length, with handsome, steel guards and a steel pommel. The pommel can be deep engraved on one side with our graphics, your graphics or initials. Just select the proper variation in the selection box. As a bonus, the Toledan Broadsword comes with a simple leather sheath that has a riveted belt loop attached.
